| Bible Study Group - Fred/Teri Elliott-Hart & Tom/Maureen Sharp | A little bit about us... Fred and Teri Elliott-Hart have been married 34 years, have three young adult children and recently welcomed our first grandchild! Fred has worked in ministry and in social work over the years and is currently a hospice social worker. Teri teaches at Denver Seminary with focus on formation. We enjoy nature, playing with our dogs and watching our son compete in Special Olympics. This group will be team led with our neighbors, Tom and Maureen Sharp.
Parents of three sons (ages 19-24), the Sharps are also navigating the parenting-young-adults-faith-journey. They moved to Colorado three years ago. Tom works with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in their Global Engagement (missions) department. He loves to have fun and create meaningful adventures for others. Maureen is Afro-Latina, born in Costa Rica. Over the years she has been a mentor to young people, from children through college students. She enjoys pickleball, prayer and praise music.
This community group will include bible study, praying for one another and occasional social gatherings. Whether you have been following Jesus for a long time or just starting to explore Christianity, you are welcome.
*Allergy Alert: The Elliott-Harts have dogs and a cat.
| Community Group - "Straight Shooters" | The increasing trend in America today is that men don’t have friends. Too often we are walking out this life alone. When Jesus chose His closest friends, He invited them to come and walk with Him. And that walk wasn’t characterized by “bull shooting” or “put-downs” but by genuine and mutual care and encouragement. If you’d like to fellowship with other men who desire to follow Jesus more closely and who enjoy smoothbores (shotguns) and the shooting of flying targets in a non-competitive setting, then you’re invited to contact our “Straight Shooters” group. We meet one morning a month at local sporting clays courses for fellowship, prayer and time on the clays course or 5 Stand. Since we meet on weekdays, this group is primarily for retired men or those who have flexibility in their weekday schedules. Jesus, the ultimate “Straight Shooter”, wants our lives to be characterized less by “bull shooting” and more by straight shooting - in our interactions and our relationships. We want that, too, and we know He’s the one who can accomplish that in us. You'll receive a confirmation email with more information when you sign up for this group. | |
| Community Group - Frank and Sarah Downey | A little bit about Frank & Sarah
We have been married for 4 years after dating for 2 years after meeting on Match.com. Frank is a Colorado native and a die-hard Broncos fan. Sarah came to Colorado 15 years ago from Texas and is still getting used to the snow. We love to travel the world and entertain family and friends. We hope this social dinner group will bring new friendships, laughter, and a sense of connection to Christ and community. Join us for great food and fun.
| Community Group - Lisa Green | A little bit about Lisa... I grew up in Nebraska (“Go Big Red”), lived in Cali for 20 years, and moved to Colorado in 2005. I have been married for 40 years to Dan, and we have three young adult children, two of whom still live with us. To say it is challenging to live with young adults is an understatement, but that is a story for another day. I am the only football fan in my family, but I have been able to elevate the Superbowl to a holiday! I love working in my yard, hiking, fostering greyhounds, and keeping fit (I run). I actually participated in my first Tough Mudder event during the summer of 2024 with a friend, but do not know if I will ever do it again. I finished, and that’s all I will say about that! I work full time at a law firm. I do paralegal work for attorneys who work with employee benefit plans (think 401(k) plans), and I also manage the day-to-day administration work for my firm’s retirement plans. My firm is merging with a much larger firm, so come January 2025, I will be working for a firm with over 1,000 lawyers. Life is never dull. My journey with God started when I was a freshman in college. Each individual journey may have mountains and valleys, rocky and smooth roads, boulders to climb and oceans to swim. Yet, through it all, we are overcomers through Him. I know how hard it can be to connect with others at a large church, so I love the idea of hosting a casual dinner group for folks to come, share a meal, meet some new friends, and grow together in life and spirit. I hope to meet you soon! | |
| Community Group - Shannon Maddox | A little bit about Shannon...
Hey, y’all. My name is Shannon (folks call me “Auntie”). I’m originally from Alabama but have lived in Colorado for almost eight years. I’m an administrative assistant and affiliate instructor at Colorado Christian University. In my spare time, I enjoy creating art and craft projects, blogging, and reading. Speaking of reading… The purpose of our book discussion group is to explore thought-provoking titles that help us grow in our relationship with and knowledge of the Lord. For our Fall session, we will meet virtually on Zoom, Saturdays, Sep 6-Nov 1, 2025. We'll be discussing Pastor Robert Gelinas' book, "Finding the Groove: Composing a Jazz-Shaped Faith."
| Community Group - Vuyani & Lora Mahluza | A little bit about Vuyani and Lora... We have two sons, Makai and Cohen who are in high school and middle school. Vuyani is a manager in Learning and Development at a logistics company. Lora is a licensed counselor and manager in Behavioral Health. We have international roots in Southern Africa and have lived in Colorado for 20 years. We keep ourselves busy with sports and enjoy hosting other families in our home. Our dinner group is casual and family-friendly potluck-style (think: taco buffet, build your own pizza, etc.) and seeks to build community among CCC family living near Eaglecrest High School and surrounding areas. We'd love to have you join us! | |
| Men's Bible Study Group - Ryan Williams | A little bit about Ryan... My wife Ruthie and I have been married for 8 years and we have two little girls, Beza who is 2-1/2 and our newborn, Zariya. We have been going to CCC for 3 years. I work in the real estate industry and when I'm not at work or with the family, I'm probably out road biking, golfing, or trying to watch the Nuggets. I don't know about you, but this season of life trying to be a good husband, a present dad, and working full time isn't a walk in the park. My hope for this group is that some dads in a similar season of life can get together for some intentional time to reflect on God's word and calling for our lives and encourage each other to follow Jesus while we show up to be good men for our families. We will either be studying through a book of the Bible or we'll do a book/reading discussion. This men’s bible study is for dads with kids elementary age or younger. We'll meet Tuesday mornings at 6:30am at The French Press, 15290 E Iliff Ave in Aurora. I look forward to meeting you! | |

| Sermon Discussion Group - Blake & Kelly Wigglesworth | A little bit about Blake & Kelly… We have been married for 4 years and love to hike, garden, and spend time with friends and family. We originally met at Biola University and still often visit California where Blake’s family lives. Blake is originally from Glendora, CA and works as a Denver Fireman. Kelly is a native Coloradan and works as a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital in Aurora. We are building our family and currently have a sweet black lab-husky mix, Pepper, who loves everyone, especially children. We’re excited to host young singles, couples, and families in our home and share the Word of God and love of Jesus with encouragement. It’s a joy to walk alongside others in the triumphant moments as well as the devastating ones. Our goal of this small group is to provide a safe and loving space to share life. Please join us in our home! | |
| Sermon Discussion Group - Bob & Lisa Sutterer | A little bit about Bob and Lisa Sutterer…
We’ve been married for 32 years and have two grown daughters who both live in Denver with their husbands and dogs. We have a Golden Retriever named Bo. We’re both high school teachers - Lisa in the Littleton District and Bob in Douglas County. Living “out west” near Dry Creek and University, we don’t balk at the commute to CCC, which we’ve attended for 12 years, because “a church that’s alive, is worth the drive.” We’re doing our best to stay active by paddle boarding, cross country skiing, biking and, now that we’re old enough, playing a little pickleball. Although we’ve lived in Colorado for 17 years, Lisa is originally from California and Bob is from Minnesota. We call our decision to settle in Colorado our “Great Compromise.” Bob stays in touch with his roots by cheering for the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. Lisa has organized numerous student trips to Europe! We’ve been involved in small groups for decades and have found gathering together with others is a great way to do life and grow together. We love the diversity, the teaching, and the missional vision at CCC and love how people can connect in our group over those things. We meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday evening of each month - one time in person and one time online. When we meet in person, we always share a great meal together (there are some awesome cooks in our group!) If you’re looking for some deep discussions, good food, laughter, and a chance to connect with some good people, come and check us out.

| Sermon Discussion Group - Dana Warren | A little bit about Dana...
My name is Dana Warren. My husband, Stanley, and I have been married for 28 years. We have one son, Adam, who is currently attending college in Tempe, AZ. I was a stay-at-home mom and my husband worked in the insurance industry. We are both retired and love to travel, reading, board games and watching movies (our favorite movies are on TCM Classic). My sermon discussion group meets at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore, and after class we browse the bookstore or head over to Crumble for a yummy cookie. I chose to lead a Sermon Discussion Group because I love digging deeper into God’s word. When Pastor Robert talked about needing facilitators for Sermon Discussion Groups, the Lord put it on my heart to do it. I’m so glad I did! We would love to have you fellowship with us!
| Sermon Discussion Group - Jim & Becky Doidge | Meet the Doidge's...
Jim and Becky have been married nearly 28 years, after meeting in undergraduate school in Colorado. After finishing school, they moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where Becky attended graduate school. They remained in Flagstaff for 6 years and had their first daughter, Alexis (now 24). With the second on the way (James, now 21), they moved back to Colorado to be near family. Jim hails from Wyoming, while Becky is a Colorado native. Becky works for Children's Hospital as a feeding specialist and Jim is in finance. In their spare time, they enjoy outdoor activities; however, Jim is the golfer while Becky chooses to hike and garden. Everyone in the family enjoys a great soccer game or good musical. Family time includes watching sporting events, cooking, playing board games, entertaining friends, and going to movies. The Doidge's host a Sermon Discussion Group to be more connected to those at CCC and to incorporate more spiritual conversations into their lives.
| Sermon Discussion Group - Jim & Sammy Vogle | A little bit about Jim & Sammy...We are grateful for our church family at CCC. We've been married for 22 blessed years and love our home in Heather Gardens. We're opening it up for a Sermon Discussion Group, hoping to connect with our neighbors and fellow church members in a deeper, Christ-centered way. Please join us on the first Saturday of each month from 1:00-3:00pm. Light snacks will be provided. | |
| Sermon Discussion Group - Talia McCray | A little bit about Talia...
I love the Lord. As an educator by nature and profession, I have lived, worked, and played in many fascinating places around the world. No matter how many times I read the bible, God reveals something new. Come join me and others as we explore what God is trying to say to us through scripture and the sermons.
| Sermon Discussion Group - Vicki Bryant | A little bit about Vicki...
Hi! I’m Vicki Bryant. I am a member of CCC and a 5+5 Missionary. I have 5 adult children - two girls and three boys; the 3 oldest of whom are married. Their father passed away almost 2 years ago, but God takes care of us. I grew up moving a lot and have spent a bit of time in every state in the U.S. We moved back to Colorado when I was eight and by the next year, I was a street kid along East Colfax breaking laws and making bad decisions. It was the everyday Christians God kept placing in my path and the Holy Spirit that drew me to Him and to salvation at age 27. In church and through Celebrate Recovery-type meetings, I learned about the love and character of Jesus. Christ called me back to East Colfax as a missionary and I’ve been following Him there since 2002. I’ve facilitated small groups for many years at CCC and started an online group during COVID. Our group continues to meet online because we have members in other states who enjoy watching the sermons at CCC from all our pastors at church. Our little group loves to gather each week and even reaches out by phone and email, regularly for prayers, praises, and relationships. Currently, I am also a caregiver to my elderly parents, as well as a missionary. My self-care consists of days with the Lord, my sermon discussion group, and meeting with friends for coffee, a meal, or a walk. I’m not a coffee drinker… my favorite hot drink is chai.
