| Bible Study Group - Fred/Teri Elliott-Hart | A little bit about us... Fred and Teri Elliott-Hart have been married 34 years, have three young adult children and recently welcomed our first grandchild! Fred has worked in ministry and in social work over the years and is currently a hospice social worker. Teri teaches at Denver Seminary with focus on formation. We enjoy nature, playing with our dogs and watching our son compete in Special Olympics.
This community group will include bible study, praying for one another and occasional social gatherings. Whether you have been following Jesus for a long time or just starting to explore Christianity, you are welcome.

| Community Group - Cheryl Rios | A little about Cheryl Rios - I am a mom of two young adults and a little dog named Sky. I teach first grade at a visual and performing arts elementary magnet school here in Aurora. I enjoy hikes, walks, reading, playing board games and I’m learning to play the keyboard/piano. As a teacher, I love to learn new things and especially learn from the Bible about God and His daily bread provision for us. Our bible study group meets weekly for 10 weeks at a time to participate in studying the Word in a way in which homework is required five days of the week and then we come together to meet and watch a speaker on video to supplement what we’ve been learning. Our study of the Bible is a verse by verse experience. Whether you are new to the Word of God or look forward to digging deeper in the Word, I would love for you to join us in growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. | Community Group - Gary & Danielle Damrell | We’re the Damrell family—Danielle, Gary, and our daughter, Ella. We live in Aurora and love bringing people together around good food, honest conversation, prayer, worship, and laughter. We’re passionate about building and living in Kingdom Community (Koinonia). As a family, we’ve learned that faith isn’t meant to be lived only inside a church building. It’s practiced around the table, in our homes, through everyday relationships, and in the way we show up for one another. We believe people are hungry for more than another meeting—they’re longing for belonging, spiritual family, and a place to genuinely experience Kingdom Community beyond Sunday mornings. Our home is full of creativity, big personalities, deep conversations, music, laughter, and plenty of real-life messiness. You don’t need to arrive polished or have everything figured out. Families with children, couples, singles, and people in every season of life are welcome. We believe children aren’t an interruption to community—they’re an important part of it. We’ll begin by gathering once a month in our home to share a meal, pray, worship, fellowship, and make space for authentic relationships to grow. | Community Group - Lisa DeJong | A little bit about Lisa DeJong... We have lived in Colorado for 28 years and love calling it home. I have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren, all living in the Denver area. I grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan (home of Kellogg's Corn Flakes!) and attended Wheaton College, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University. Over the years, I've worked in clinical microbiology, been a substitute science teacher, and sold stuff on eBay. I enjoy mountain hiking during wildflower season, playing the piano, and xeriscape gardening—we replaced all of our grass with water-wise landscaping. I also love baking all of my own bread and making homemade vinegar, ricotta cheese, pickles, and yogurt. I would love to host a community group made up of couples and singles of different ages, where we can enjoy meaningful conversations in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. My hope is to create a place where people can connect, enjoy one another, and feel at ease, with no pressure or expectations. | |
| Community Group - Luke & Shannon Niermann | A little bit about Luke and Shannon... We’re excited to start a dinner group as a way to be more intentional about building community and getting to know others! We’re both originally from the Chicago area and have been married for 20 years. We’ve lived in Colorado for nearly half that time and have three kids—a high schooler, a middle schooler, and one in elementary school. Luke is an immigration lawyer, and Shannon is a 5th grade teacher with Aurora Public Schools. After moving to Aurora, we found our church home at Colorado Community Church about four years ago and have enjoyed getting involved with Kids Ministry and the More Life Community Center. We’re a family who loves hiking, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, being weekend taxi drivers for our kids! We’d love for this group to be a relaxed, welcoming place where families and individuals can share a meal, build friendships, and grow in community together. We meet for dinner at 6:00pm on the first Friday of each month. Everyone is welcome, including families with kids—ours will be there too! There won’t be childcare, so kids will simply be in the mix or playing together. | |

Monica - I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. I have an Associate Degree in Sociology from Southern University and a BA in Organizational Management from Wiley College. I was a Sunday School teacher, and Youth Director for 5 years at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. We moved to Colorado in 1999 where I accepted a position as a Supervisor in Managed Care-Enrollment Services at Denver Health and Hospital. I am a widow but was married for 32 years and have 3 adult sons. I currently work for the State of Colorado as a Contract Manager at Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) for 17 years, overseeing contracts for 9 Eligibility Sites that assist individuals with obtaining a state medical program. I think of myself as a well-rounded individual who loves people, traveling, reading, games, food, and most of all, the Lord! I have worked in various areas of the church, Children’s Ministry, Welcoming Committee, Jail Ministry, Pew Duty and a wide range of volunteering work at CCC.
Vernita - Hi everyone! I’m originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and have called Colorado home for 30 years. I have two adult children and, recently, happily retired after a career in the software industry. I enjoy cooking South Louisiana dishes, container gardening, relaxing with a good book in my hammock, and getting creative with arts and crafts. My faith reminds me to be welcoming and kind to others, and of the joy of community, which makes serving as a co-lead for Games for Active Seniors especially meaningful to me.
Our group is called Games for Active Seniors, “GAS”, which is "Fuel for the Soul". It gives us drive to have Love, Joy, Fun, Interactions, Health, Grace and Compassion for each other while engaging in indoor/outdoor activities for Co-Ed Seniors 55+. Activities will include board games, cards, charades, bingo, and other indoor/outdoor activities, such as pickleball, kick ball, badminton, bowling, etc. We look forward to meeting you! | |
| Community Group - Spanish Conversation Group | A relaxed, welcoming space for intermediate Spanish learners and native speakers to connect through real conversation. This group, facilitated by Yvette Downing, Suzanna Rodriguez, and Sonia Agosto, is all about speaking freely—no pressure, no corrections, and no formal instruction. It’s not a class, but a chance to build confidence by using Spanish in a natural, unscripted way. Come as you are, join in at your comfort level, and enjoy casual conversations on everyday topics. Whether you’re looking to keep your skills sharp or simply enjoy meaningful dialogue, this is a judgment-free environment where communication comes first. This group is open to anyone who wants to practice speaking Spanish. Native speakers are warmly welcomed, with the understanding that patience and encouragement are key in creating a supportive experience for learners. Vuyani is a manager in Learning and Development at a logistics company. Lora is a licensed counselor and manager in Behavioral Health. We have international roots in Southern Africa and have lived in Colorado for 20 years. We keep ourselves busy with sports and enjoy hosting other families in our home. Our dinner group is casual and family-friendly potluck-style (think: taco buffet, build your own pizza, etc.) and seeks to build community among CCC family living near Eaglecrest High School and surrounding areas. | Men's Bible Study Group - Ryan Williams | A little bit about Ryan... My wife Ruthie and I have been married for 8 years and we have two little girls, Beza who is 2-1/2 and our newborn, Zariya. We have been going to CCC for 3 years. I work in the real estate industry and when I'm not at work or with the family, I'm probably out road biking, golfing, or trying to watch the Nuggets. I don't know about you, but this season of life trying to be a good husband, a present dad, and working full time isn't a walk in the park. My hope for this group is that some dads in a similar season of life can get together for some intentional time to reflect on God's word and calling for our lives and encourage each other to follow Jesus while we show up to be good men for our families. We will either be studying through a book of the Bible or we'll do a book/reading discussion. This men’s bible study is for dads with kids elementary age or younger. We'll meet Tuesday mornings at 6:30am at Harar Beans Coffee, 12101 E Iliff Ave, Suite A in Aurora. I look forward to meeting you! | |

| Sermon Discussion Group - Aaron & Jenae Lipman | A little bit about Aaron and Jenae… In December this year, we will be celebrating 20 years of marriage and agree that a December wedding isn’t advisable. We are an adoptive family with four children who are in grades 4, 5, 8 and 9 this school year. Jenae is a teacher in Aurora Public Schools. She spent several years homeschooling our children, but recently returned to the public school classroom as an elementary special education teacher and this year is venturing into the middle school realm. Aaron is a realtor and finds great fulfillment in helping families navigate the sometimes tricky and emotional journey of finding and selling their homes. Aaron hails from the great state of Texas and is a lifelong fan of the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. Jenae is originally from Indiana and has always rooted for the Pacers and IU basketball, but sure had fun following the IU football team this last year. Even though there isn’t a great-performing team to cheer for here, we love living in Colorado and have no intention of ever leaving. We’ve been involved in small groups for nearly as long as we’ve been married and love the way gathering together as brothers and sisters in Christ builds community and helps us all sharpen each other. Come join us for some coffee, tea, and fellowship! Our small group will meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evening of each month at our home in SE Aurora. | Sermon Discussion Group - Bob & Lisa Sutterer | A little bit about Bob and Lisa Sutterer…
We’ve been married for 32 years and have two grown daughters who both live in Denver with their husbands and dogs. We have a Golden Retriever named Bo. We’re both high school teachers - Lisa in the Littleton District and Bob in Douglas County. Living “out west” near Dry Creek and University, we don’t balk at the commute to CCC, which we’ve attended for 12 years, because “a church that’s alive, is worth the drive.” We’re doing our best to stay active by paddle boarding, cross country skiing, biking and, now that we’re old enough, playing a little pickleball. Although we’ve lived in Colorado for 17 years, Lisa is originally from California and Bob is from Minnesota. We call our decision to settle in Colorado our “Great Compromise.” Bob stays in touch with his roots by cheering for the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. Lisa has organized numerous student trips to Europe! We’ve been involved in small groups for decades and have found gathering together with others is a great way to do life and grow together. We love the diversity, the teaching, and the missional vision at CCC and love how people can connect in our group over those things. We meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday evening of each month - one time in person and one time online. When we meet in person, we always share a great meal together (there are some awesome cooks in our group!) If you’re looking for some deep discussions, good food, laughter, and a chance to connect with some good people, come and check us out.

We are Cris and Cindy Wagner and we host and facilitate a Sermon Discussion Group on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in Southwest Aurora. We've both been born again Christians for 40+ years and have been married for 40 years. We have two daughters, Chelsea (husband Aaron) and Carly (husband Tyler), and three grandchildren, Cole (4), Grey (2.5) and Flynn (1). We are blessed that they all live in the Denver area. We really enjoy spending time with our family, especially the grandkids! Cindy is the Executive Director of V-Esprit, an Active Adult Community and is a CCC Deacon in the Children's Ministry. Cris is retired, is the CCC Elder over Men's Ministries and a Volunteer Chaplain for the Aurora Police Department. We really enjoy the fact that our group has evolved into a family. We spend time catching up with everyone about what's happened in their lives the preceding two weeks, discussing the sermon and then making it a focus and priority to spend quality time praying for each other. I was a stay-at-home mom and my husband worked in the insurance industry. We are both retired and love to travel, reading, board games and watching movies (our favorite movies are on TCM Classic). My sermon discussion group meets at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore, and after class we browse the bookstore or head over to Crumble for a yummy cookie. I chose to lead a Sermon Discussion Group because I love digging deeper into God’s word. | Sermon Discussion Group - Timothy & Kathy Williams | A little bit about Tim and Kathy… We both share a love for God's creation and a desire to care for it. Tim works as a Soil Specialist, and Kathy is an Arborist Assistant. About a year ago, they moved to Denver to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing music, camping, ping pong, and games. They have attended CCC for the past year and are grateful to be part of the church family. Tim enjoys the Men's Prayer Breakfast and volunteering, while Kathy sings in the choir and participates in Mug and Muffin. Together, they have been following Christ for a combined 90 years! Throughout ten moves, including seasons of service as associate missionaries in Malaysia and Ecuador, they have trusted the Lord to faithfully lead and guide their lives. For more than 20 years, Tim and Kathy have been involved in church community groups, where they have come to value faithful biblical teaching, meaningful participation from everyone, and relationships built on trust and transparency. Having served as Life Group leaders for several years in Wisconsin, they now sense God leading them to serve in that role again at CCC. Their desire is to lead a sermon-based group that meets faithfully, applies God's Word to everyday life, prays with and for one another, and encourages one another in following Christ. Hi! I’m Vicki Bryant. I am a member of CCC and a 5+5 Missionary. I have 5 adult children - two girls and three boys; the 3 oldest of whom are married. Their father passed away almost 2 years ago, but God takes care of us. I grew up moving a lot and have spent a bit of time in every state in the U.S. We moved back to Colorado when I was eight and by the next year, I was a street kid along East Colfax breaking laws and making bad decisions. It was the everyday Christians God kept placing in my path and the Holy Spirit that drew me to Him and to salvation at age 27. In church and through Celebrate Recovery-type meetings, I learned about the love and character of Jesus. Christ called me back to East Colfax as a missionary and I’ve been following Him there since 2002. I’ve facilitated small groups for many years at CCC and started an online group during COVID. Our group continues to meet online because we have members in other states who enjoy watching the sermons at CCC from all our pastors at church. Our little group loves to gather each week and even reaches out by phone and email, regularly for prayers, praises, and relationships. Currently, I am also a caregiver to my elderly parents, as well as a missionary. My self-care consists of days with the Lord, my sermon discussion group, and meeting with friends for coffee, a meal, or a walk. I’m not a coffee drinker… my favorite hot drink is chai. | |
